Amman: Education for Employment (EFE) announced on Sunday it will host the MENA YES (Youth Employment Solution-Based) summit in Amman on October 20-21, bringing together regional and global stakeholders to collaborate on practical solutions to youth unemployment. EFE CEO and Conference Steering Committee Chair Andrew Baird emphasized the event as a platform for inspiring action through cross-sector partnerships addressing youth employment challenges in the region.
According to Jordan News Agency, Jordan was selected as the host due to its commitment to youth opportunities, central location in the Middle East and North Africa, and leadership in supporting displaced communities. The conference aims to gather representatives from various sectors, including youth leaders, policymakers, employers, educational institutions, and civil society organizations, to discuss strategies for inclusive and sustainable employment.
The conference will focus on themes such as women's economic empowerment, jobs in the green economy, artificial intelligence, and mental health support. A significant aspect of the conference will be the inclusion of refugee and displaced youth, ensuring their participation in all discussions and solutions.
The previous MENA YES summit in Morocco saw over 250 participants and numerous organizations and speakers. This year's edition in Jordan is anticipated to reach a wider audience and have a greater regional impact.
