The Ministry of Environment and the Tunisian Ministry of Local Affairs and Environment signed Tuesday the working document of the executive program for preserving the environment and natural resources and protecting them from pollution, and activating the memorandum of understanding concluded between the two sides in the field of environmental protection in 1999.

The agreement was signed by Environment Minister Nabil Masarweh and Tunisian Ambassador to Jordan Khaled Al-Suhaili.

The two sides stressed the need to work for ensuring the success of the prepared executive program, which aims to build the capacities of the two parties in the field of environmental protection and the preparation of joint projects in many environmental fields, such as waste management, olive mill waste, biodiversity, green economy, climate change and environmental legislation.

The agreement included working on twinning public institutions in the environmental field between the two parties and forming a joint technical committee to follow up on the implementation of the agreement through periodic meetings held in the two brotherly countries.
