Jordan, UAE and Egypt integrated industrial partnership aims to achieve sustainable economic development and establish “unprecedented” tripartite cooperation and will constitute an “advanced” model for pan-Arab economic cooperation, Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Yousef Shamali, said.

Speaking at a meeting with Jordan Chamber of Industry (JCC), Wednesday, he briefed its board of directors, on the partnership details, its executive steps and the procedures agreed upon at the first meeting of the three countries’ industry ministers.

The initiative, Shamali noted, came as a result of the summit meeting that brought together the three countries’ leaders during the holy month of Ramadan.

In addition, he said the partnership reflects the “solid” bilateral relations and the three countries’ leaderships’ “unrelenting ” efforts to enhance cooperation in various fields, especially in the economic area.

Under the initiative’s framework, he noted the projects that will be implemented will be carried out by the private sector, which is a key partner for this “unprecedented” partnership that establishes tripartite Arab economic cooperation, adding that other countries could join it later.

Jordanian private sector’s proposals were taken into account at drafting the partnership, which reflects “true and effective” public-private coordination to enhance the initiative’s success and faciliate three countries’ private sector benefits from projects that will be implemented accordingly, he pointed out.
