Amman: Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and the United Arab Emirates' counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, engaged in discussions on Sunday focusing on efforts to end the escalation in the region and restore security and stability.
According to Jordan News Agency, during a phone call, the two ministers condemned Iranian attacks on Jordan and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) member states, expressing mutual solidarity in confronting these issues. Safadi and Sheikh Abdullah highlighted the urgent need for a ceasefire and a return to negotiations as the viable path to resolve the crisis and address the underlying causes of regional tension.
The ministers also underscored the importance of ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, in line with international law.
