Jordan Welcomes UN Report on Israel Committing Genocide in Gaza

Amman: The Ministry of Foreign and Expatriates Affairs on Wednesday welcomed the findings of a report issued by the United Nations Independent International Commission of Inquiry, which concluded that Israeli occupation forces committed genocide, war crimes, and crimes against humanity in the Gaza Strip.

According to Jordan News Agency, Ministry Spokesperson Fuad Majali stated that the report clearly shows that Israeli authorities perpetrated genocide against Palestinians in Gaza through deliberate killings, starvation as a weapon, targeting of civilian infrastructure, forced displacement, and the imposition of living conditions intended to destroy Palestinians in whole or in part.

Majali further added that the report underscores the need for the Israeli government to immediately comply with its legal obligations and end its violations and crimes in Gaza.

He urged the international community to fulfill its legal and moral responsibilities by compelling Israel to halt its aggression against Gaza, ensure sufficient and sustainable humanitarian aid to the Strip, stop its dangerous escalation in the region, and provide protection for the Palestinian people.
