Amman: A Jordanian-Danish health seminar organized by the Jordan Food and Drug Administration (JFDA), in cooperation with the Danish Embassy, opened Wednesday with experts and speakers from Jordan, Denmark, and Egypt. The seminar aimed to promote the exchange of expertise and review health care practices and experiences.
According to Jordan News Agency, JFDA Director-General Rana Obeidat emphasized the necessity of developing a clear plan to maximize the benefits of health technology assessment systems, focusing particularly on the Jordanian Patient Support Program. Obeidat highlighted the critical role of exchanging international and regional expertise in health technology assessment to enhance practices and support knowledge-based health decisions.
The seminar was moderated by Danish Embassy Head of Economic Diplomacy and Trade Nesreen Obeid and included presentations, interactive discussions, and question-and-answer sessions. Head of the Pharmacoeconomics Division Al Hanouf Al-Rudaini discussed the JFDA's role in medicine pricing, which relies on approved pricing criteria and economic studies.
The seminar also explored health technology assessment as a tool for supporting evidence-based decision-making, improving spending efficiency, strengthening pharmaceutical and treatment decisions, and facilitating access to modern therapies in alignment with international health standards.
