Amman: Jordanian field hospitals stationed in the Gaza Strip are continuing their medical services amidst the challenging humanitarian conditions resulting from Israel's ongoing war. This initiative is part of Jordan's efforts, guided by royal directives, to alleviate the suffering of the Palestinian people.
According to Jordan News Agency, the Jordanian Field Hospital Gaza/7, located in Khan Younis in the southern part of Gaza, has been operational in providing substantial medical care. Since its deployment, the hospital has treated 30,226 patients, performed 1,647 surgeries, and admitted 665 cases requiring surgical intervention. The facility is equipped with 36 beds, two operating theaters, and an intensive care unit, serving as a critical healthcare provider in the region.
The North Gaza/83 Hospital has also been actively fulfilling its humanitarian mission since August 12. It has attended to 12,623 patients, offering a broad range of medical services, including emergency care, surgery, orthopedics, dentistry, internal medicine, pediatrics, and gynecology. The hospital's 40-bed capacity supports the immense medical effort required in the densely populated area, where the demand for healthcare is steadily increasing.
In a notable humanitarian initiative, the Royal Medical Services launched the "Restoring Hope - Artificial Limbs" program in September 2024. This initiative has provided 589 upper and lower prosthetic limbs to civilians injured in the conflict, symbolizing a significant commitment to restoring mobility and hope to the wounded.
The South Gaza/7 Hospital staff recently responded to an urgent call for assistance from a 40-year-old Palestinian woman suffering from a mobility disability due to osteoporosis and calcium deficiency. Despite facing a severe shortage of medicines and medical supplies, the hospital managed to deliver the necessary care.
These ongoing efforts highlight the Jordan Armed Forces' dedication to humanitarian roles and underscore the Kingdom's support for humanitarian causes and the Palestinian people amid the ongoing adversity in Gaza.
