Jordan’s Firm Support for Qatar Amid Israeli Aggression Highlighted by Analysts

Amman: Jordan, under the leadership of His Majesty King Abdullah II, has taken a decisive stance in support of Qatar following the recent Israeli attack on Doha. The Kingdom quickly initiated an extensive diplomatic campaign to engage with Qatari leadership and other Arab and Islamic states, emphasizing that any attack on an Arab nation's sovereignty poses a significant threat to regional security and stability.

According to Jordan News Agency, this supportive position was underscored by King Abdullah II's direct communication with Qatar's Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani. In a phone call, the King expressed Jordan's strong condemnation of the assault and full solidarity with Qatar's security and sovereignty. Furthermore, the Crown Prince's visit to Doha reinforced the message that Qatar's security is intrinsically linked to Jordan's, showcasing the deep strategic ties between the two nations.

Official statements from Jordan described the attack as a "cowardly aggression" and a blatant violation of international law, urging the international community and the UN Security Council to take action against such hostile acts. In a powerful speech at an Arab summit, King Abdullah II called for a unified Arab stance to halt Israeli aggressions and protect the region's security.

Analysts and politicians assert that Jordan's position is more than symbolic; it forms a critical legal and political foundation against aggression and strengthens Arab alliances in the face of common challenges. Former Agriculture Minister Reda Al-Khawaldeh highlighted King Abdullah's intensive diplomatic efforts to unify positions across Arab and Islamic nations in response to the attack on Qatar, underscoring the Kingdom's historic approach to defending its Arab brothers.

Christine Nasr, a writer, noted that Jordan's unwavering support for Qatar sent a clear message of solidarity, reinforcing the Kingdom's commitment to stand with its allies in times of crisis. During an emergency Arab-Islamic summit in Doha, King Abdullah condemned the Israeli aggression as a significant escalation and assured continued Jordanian support for Qatar.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi reiterated Jordan's condemnation of Israeli actions during a UN Security Council session, emphasizing the need for active measures to halt such aggressions. Nasr stressed that the emergency summit conveyed a strong message of Arab and Islamic solidarity, particularly amid expanding Israeli hostilities in the region.

Jawdat Manaa, coordinator of the Defend Jerusalem International Campaign, remarked on King Abdullah II's emphasis on Arab solidarity, highlighting that Qatar's security is integral to Jordanian and Arab national security. His address criticized Israeli policies and called for a robust Arab response to prevent further aggression and displacement of Palestinians.

From a strategic perspective, Khaled Hammad Ayad, an analyst, affirmed that Jordan's support for Qatar is a longstanding position, reflecting strong diplomatic ties and shared security concerns.
