Jordan’s SDC Joins International Organization of Securities Commissions

Amman: Securities Depository Center (SDC) of Jordan has officially joined the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO) as an "associate member," following the organization's approval of its membership application.

According to Jordan News Agency, the SDC stated that this membership is a significant step in strengthening its position on the international stage and securing broader opportunities to participate in developing global policies and standards for regulating securities markets.

The SDC emphasized that this milestone would enhance the exchange of expertise with counterpart institutions operating on regulating and developing global securities markets. This step aligns with the SDC's vision of supporting the structure of the local market in accordance with international practices and standards.

Furthermore, the achievement reflects the SDC's commitment to transparency, governance, and the development of securities market infrastructure to serve the interests of the national economy. By joining the IOSCO, the center has become a member of the Associate Members Consultative Committee (AMCC), which promotes cooperation and expertise exchange among member states in key areas such as anti-money laundering, financial technology, cybersecurity, and sustainable finance.
