Amman: Jordan's youth are the "cornerstone" of the nation's development and modernization and represent the "effective force" in shaping its future, stated Abdul Moneim Odat, Minister of Political and Parliamentary Affairs, during a recent meeting. The event brought together leaders from the Labor Party and young participants from the "Watan-Homeland" initiative, under the theme "Youth: Engines of Change."

According to Jordan News Agency, Odat emphasized that the Kingdom's modernization project has created a legislative and political environment that empowers youth to actively participate in political life and public affairs, aiming for a party majority in parliament. This initiative has been supported by constitutional amendments and new legislations that regulate political life.

The minister further explained that political engagement requires active participation within programmatic parties to genuinely express the concerns and aspirations of citizens. He underscored the critical role political parties play in boosting youth involvement in partisan activities.

Odat highlighted that political modernization is driven by a strong political will and a national desire to enhance participation in decision-making processes and achieve political effectiveness. The ultimate goal, he noted, is to ensure youth presence in Jordan's political arena, enabling them to engage in decision-making processes and contribute to the nation's development across all sectors.
