Amman: Jordan University of Science and Technology (JUST) has entered the list of the world's top 500 universities, ranking 461st globally as per QS World University Rankings 2026.
According to Jordan News Agency, the university said this milestone contributes to consolidating its position as an academic institution and enhances Jordan's presence on the international higher education map. The university said the latest achievement is an indication of its rapid progress in recent years.
"In just 4 years, the university jumped over 500 slots, which was back then in the 800-1000 category, due to implementing a gradual strategic plan focused on developing quality education, enhancing scientific research, and activating international and community partnerships," the statement pointed out.
In remarks Thursday, JUST President, Dr. Khaled Salem, said the achievement is due to cumulative institutional efforts of the university's researchers, faculty, students, and staff. Salem noted the university's commitment to continue to invest in innovation, entrepreneurship, and scientific research, expand international cooperation, and unleash the youth potential to ensure progress and support its global competitiveness.
Salem noted this step reflects Jordan's commitment to enhancing the quality of higher education and developing the youth capabilities.
