Amman: The Jordan Valley Authority (JVA), in collaboration with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), organized a training workshop titled "Building Administrative and Technical Capacities in Dam Operation and Maintenance."
According to Jordan News Agency, the workshop aims to enhance the skills of engineers and technicians working in the field of dam operation and maintenance. Hisham Hissa, JVA Secretary-General, confirmed that the workshop is part of the JVA's strategic plan to strengthen the technical and administrative capabilities of its staff, ensuring the sustainability of water resources and improving their optimal utilization.
He explained that these training programs help employees face various challenges and emergency situations, particularly during floods. The workshop included training on analyzing device readings, preparing water balances, evaluating the impact of sedimentation on dam safety and capacity, performing sensory inspections of dam components, and preparing and updating annual emergency plans.
