King Abdullah II Embarks on European Tour Starting with Spain

Madrid: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Wednesday commenced a working visit to Europe, beginning in Spain. The visit will also include stops in the United Kingdom and France.

According to Jordan News Agency, during his stay in Madrid, King Abdullah II is scheduled to hold separate meetings with King Felipe VI of Spain and Prime Minister Pedro S¡nchez. This marks the first leg of the King's European tour, aimed at strengthening diplomatic ties and discussing key bilateral issues.

Following his engagements in Spain, King Abdullah II will travel to the United Kingdom. In London, he is slated to meet with UK Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. The discussion is expected to focus on enhancing cooperation between Jordan and the UK, as well as addressing regional and international developments.

The final stop of the tour will be in Nice, France. Here, His Majesty will meet with French President Emmanuel Macron. Additionally, he will engage with numerous leaders and officials from various countries on the sidelines of the third United Nations Ocean Conference. The conference provides a platform to deliberate on global maritime challenges and collaborative solutions.

During King Abdullah II's absence, His Royal Highness Prince Hashim bin Al Hussein was sworn in as Regent, with the ceremony conducted in the presence of Cabinet members.
