Riyadh: His Majesty King Abdullah II met with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the prime minister of Saudi Arabia on Monday, during the Extraordinary Arab and Islamic Summit in Riyadh. The royal court statement highlighted the significance of the meeting as a platform for discussing pressing regional issues and fostering bilateral cooperation. According to Jordan News Agency, King Abdullah II praised Saudi Arabia's leadership under Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud for its efforts to unify Arab and Muslim initiatives, with a particular focus on addressing the Palestinian cause. The King emphasized the urgent need to cease the Israeli war on Gaza and Lebanon and advocated for an intensified humanitarian response to the crisis in the Gaza Strip. The dialogue also underscored the strong bilateral ties between Jordan and Saudi Arabia, with both parties expressing a commitment to enhancing cooperation across various sectors. Additionally, the meeting explored shared perspectives on regional developments and the importance of collaborative Arab action to restore stability in the region. Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh were present at the meeting, reinforcing the high-level nature of the discussions.
