King Abdullah II Engages with US Congress Members on Strategic Partnership

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II received members of the United States Congress in two separate meetings on Wednesday, according to a royal court statement.

According to Jordan News Agency, His Majesty met with Senator Jacky Rosen, and House Representatives Mike Lawler, Michael McCaul, and Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick. The discussions focused on strengthening the strategic partnership between Jordan and the United States and enhancing economic cooperation. The meetings emphasized the need to support Jordan's economy, recognizing its role as a stabilizing factor in the region.

The discussions also highlighted the significance of the King's interactions with members of the US Senate and House of Representatives. Members of Congress expressed their eagerness to visit Jordan regularly to expand cooperation and exchange views on regional and international developments.

In addressing regional issues, His Majesty underscored the US's pivotal role in stabilizing the region. He emphasized the need for de-escalation in the West Bank and the importance of ending the war on Gaza, starting with a ceasefire and ensuring the unimpeded flow of humanitarian aid into the Strip.

Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi and Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh attended the meetings.
