Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday received Sardor Uktamovich Umurzakov, Adviser to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan on Strategic Development, as part of efforts to enhance Jordan-Uzbekistan relations. The visit by the Uzbek official, leading a high-level delegation, follows King Abdullah’s successful visit to Uzbekistan the previous month.

According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting, which included His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, was focused on strengthening the strong ties of friendship between Jordan and Uzbekistan. Discussions emphasized capitalizing on growth opportunities in sectors such as trade, investment, health, education, tourism, and defense. King Abdullah underscored the significance of sustained coordination between the two governments to build on the outcomes of his Uzbekistan visit, which resulted in nine agreements and cooperation protocols, along with three memorandums of understanding.

The meeting, also attended by His Royal Highness Prince Ghazi bin Muhammad, the King’s chief adviser for religious and cultural affairs and personal envoy, covered regional developments, with particular attention to the situation in Gaza, the West Bank, and Jerusalem. The discussions were further enriched by the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, and the Uzbek delegation.
