Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II, during a phone call with United Nations Secretary-General Ant³nio Guterres, highlighted the urgency of amplifying international humanitarian efforts in Gaza following the recent ceasefire agreement.
According to Jordan News Agency, the King emphasized the necessity of adhering to the full implementation of all phases of the agreement, which was facilitated by the United States, Qatar, Egypt, and Trkiye. He underscored that the current agreement should serve as a foundation for achieving lasting peace in the region.
King Abdullah also expressed concerns over unilateral actions against Palestinians in the West Bank and the ongoing assaults on holy sites in Jerusalem. Furthermore, he praised the recent resolution adopted by the UNESCO Executive Board, which focuses on maintaining the historical and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its surrounding walls.
