King’s Speech at European Parliament Hailed as Milestone for Global Peace and Development

Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II's recent address at the European Parliament has been described as a "milestone at a critical global moment, reflecting a human conscience that dictates peace, justice, and respect for the rights of peoples," according to Dr. Mustafa Khasawneh, First Deputy Speaker of the Lower House of Representatives.

According to Jordan News Agency, Dr. Khasawneh made these remarks during a meeting held at the House's headquarters with students participating in the "Political Empowerment Camp" program, an initiative launched by the Ministry of Youth. During the meeting, he emphasized that the King's speech presented a "clear" political roadmap, showcasing Jordan's positions with "firmness and courage" to the international community and advocating for wisdom and peace.

Khasawneh pointed out that King Abdullah II emphasized the importance of development, stability, and security, which are central to Jordan's role in supporting regional issues and pursuing just and lasting solutions. Locally, he mentioned that the Kingdom's paths of political, administrative, and economic modernization are advancing simultaneously.

The MP also highlighted the significance of empowering Jordan's youth and women, considering them essential to the reform process. He stressed the need to enhance their participation in public life and political activities, supported by the new political Parties Law. Additionally, he praised the role of His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II in supporting youth and promoting values of citizenship through voluntary work and community initiatives.
