Amman: A delegation from South Korea’s Far East Broadcasting Network (FEBC) concluded an official visit to Jordan at the invitation of the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), touring more than 16 of the Kingdom’s most prominent religious, historical, and natural sites. In a statement on Monday, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Imad Hijazin, emphasized that the visit signifies a qualitative step in consolidating Jordan’s position on the global religious tourism map, stressing the Kingdom’s unique spiritual heritage as a major stop for Christian pilgrimages.
According to Jordan News Agency, the JTB Director General, Abdul Razzaq Arabiyat, highlighted that the delegation’s visit reflects the confidence of international media institutions in Jordan’s tourism credentials. He noted that the JTB prepared a comprehensive program to showcase the country’s tourism experience, which is expected to open wider media channels with South Korea and the world, boosting Christian pilgrimages and cultural tourism.
The delegation, led by Reverend John Kim, included specialized media professionals from FEBC, one of the world’s most influential Christian media organizations. They engaged with local clergy, recorded programs, and documented spiritual rituals, including the renewal of baptismal vows for two members at the Baptism Site.
The JTB mentioned that the visit included audio recordings and interactive activities prepared by Reverend Kim, designed to bring Jordan’s faith and heritage messages to millions of viewers in South Korea and worldwide.
An agreement in principle was also reached to hold awareness seminars, joint media programs, and workshops between Jordanian and Korean tourism stakeholders to enhance Christian pilgrimage opportunities and foster media and cultural cooperation.
Founded in 1945, the FEBC broadcasts spiritual and cultural programming across Asia and worldwide, promoting peace, faith, and cultural exchange among Christian communities.
