Moscow: Russian President Vladimir Putin is set to meet with several world leaders during his visit to China, the Kremlin announced. The meetings will include discussions with Chinese President Xi Jinping, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Iranian Deputy Speaker Masoud Pezeshkian, Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

According to Anadolu Agency, these discussions are scheduled to occur on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin and various anniversary events in Beijing from August 31 to September 3. Presidential aide Yuri Ushakov noted that Putin and Xi will engage in both expanded and narrow-format talks, concentrating on US relations and the Ukraine conflict. Russian Prime Minister Andrey Belousov will also participate in some of these discussions.

Ushakov mentioned the possibility of a bilateral meeting between Putin and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un during the visit. He also confirmed that while Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev will be present in Beijing, no talks between him and Putin are planned. Notably, US President Donald Trump is not among the invited guests.

Additionally, a trilateral meeting is planned involving the leaders of Russia, China, and Mongolia. Putin will be accompanied by a delegation including three deputy prime ministers, over ten ministers, state corporation leaders, and business figures.

Following his engagements in China, Putin will proceed to Vladivostok for the Eastern Economic Forum, which is expected to host representatives from over 70 countries, including the prime ministers of Laos and Mongolia, and a senior official from the Chinese Communist Party.

Putin and Xi Jinping last convened in Beijing in May during the Belt and Road Forum, where they discussed a range of global and regional issues.
