Amman: The Ministry of Labor has launched a comprehensive digital portal designed to streamline workplace inspections and occupational health services, aiming to simplify processes and enhance efficiency for employers across the country. According to Jordan News Agency, the "Employer Portal for Inspection and Occupational Health Services," accessible at (https://mol.gov.jo), offers a centralized platform for a variety of essential services. Haytham Najdawi, Director of the Ministry's Inspection Department, highlighted that the portal will gradually introduce a total of 13 electronic services tailored for employers, with six services already available in the initial phase. These include registering new company branches not yet in the Ministry's database, adding employee information for compliance purposes, viewing inspection visit summaries to ensure transparency, filing objections to inspection outcomes, and uploading necessary documents following inspections. This new tool will also facilitate medical and safety accreditations, such as approvals for full-time and part-time doctors, nurses, and first responders on staff. Employers can now access certifications for key roles within occupational health and safety committees, a move aimed at boosting workplace standards across sectors. In upcoming phases, the portal will roll out additional services to further ease compliance. Phase two will introduce tools for quarterly work injury reporting, a 48-hour reporting window for serious workplace injuries, notification systems for occupational disease cases, and detailed records required under the labor law. Phase three will bring even more capabilities, including documentation tools for safety committee meetings and fitness assessments for workers. The Ministry encourages employers to explore these resources and seek technical support if needed, with dedicated assistance available at 60/2221020, extension 2334.
