Amman: The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned on Saturday that Israel's ban of the agency would not solve the Palestinian refugee issue, but rather exacerbate the problem. UNRWA Commissioner-General Philippe Lazzarini said on X that the agency is the backbone of aid operations in the Gaza Strip, and it also continues providing health care and education to Palestinian refugees in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem.
According to Jordan News Agency, Israel's disposing of the agency will not solve the Palestinian refugee issue, as it is a political issue, but could exacerbate the problem, he commented.
