Amman: Minister of State for Public Sector Development Badria Al Balbisi patronized a ceremony on Thursday to announce the performance evaluation results of governorate public works directorates for the years 2024-2025. The ceremony, attended by Minister of Public Works and Housing, Maher Abul Samen, concluded a comprehensive assessment of 14 directorates aimed at measuring institutional and service delivery performance while fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
According to Jordan News Agency, Al Balbisi emphasized that evaluating the performance of these directorates represents a practical implementation of the Public Sector Modernization Roadmap. She noted that it fosters accountability and boosts the efficiency of government services by linking evaluation outcomes to the government performance management system and its executive program for 2026-2029.
For his part, Abul Samen stated that the evaluation serves as a strategic tool to elevate institutional output and improve the quality of services provided to citizens. He added that the ministry is aligning its development plans with the objectives of the Economic Modernization Vision and the public sector reform program to institutionalize results-based management.
The evaluation results revealed that the Madaba Public Works Directorate secured first place, followed by the Ajloun Directorate in second, and the Jerash Directorate in third. Additionally, the Tafilah Directorate won the award for Corporate Surveying and Effective Communication, while the Aqaba Directorate received the award for the Improvement and Innovation metric.
The evaluation process culminated in a detailed report containing a package of developmental recommendations tied to the executive projects of the Economic Modernization Vision, designed to establish sustainable improvement plans across all public works directorates in the kingdom.
