Amman: Government Communication Minister Mohammad Momani announced that the cabinet will initiate a national dialogue focused on local administration legislation, including comprehensive sessions addressing all tracks of the administrative modernization process.
According to Jordan News Agency, during a meeting with the “My Governorate for Volunteer Work and Training” Foundation, Momani emphasized the importance of engaging with civil society organizations to foster openness and dialogue as a central aspect of the government’s operational approach. He highlighted the significance of empowering youth as a cornerstone for the comprehensive modernization project, underscoring their vital role in the political modernization process.
Momani praised the capabilities and leadership qualities of Jordanian youth, citing their competence, motivation, resolve, and professionalism. He noted the positive impact of mandatory military service in reinforcing youth roles and instilling the values of sacrifice and national contribution. Additionally, he urged young people to participate in national efforts to combat rumors and hate speech, mentioning the Ministry’s ongoing work on a media education initiative targeted at youth.
The Minister revealed plans to finalize the second media education strategy soon, cautioning that any strategy would be ineffective without active youth participation. He stressed the importance of media and communication policies that raise awareness about the roles of women and youth, providing them with adequate media coverage to highlight challenges, success stories, and volunteer initiatives.
Momani also announced the forthcoming Government Spokespersons’ Forum and plans to establish a digital follow-up room for media spokespeople. He mentioned that a study is being conducted to merge the “Your Right to Know” and Media Credibility Monitor (AKEED) platforms. Furthermore, he acknowledged Jordan’s significant regional and international role, particularly in supporting the Palestinian cause and Gaza Strip, despite facing campaigns aimed at undermining its efforts.
Abdullah Bani Hani, Director of the “My Governorate for Volunteer Work and Training” Foundation, shared that since 2014, the foundation has been dedicated to serving society, educational institutions, and has organized conferences to increase youth awareness. The foundation also monitors social media to counter rumors and clarify Jordan’s genuine positions.
