Amman: The Jordan Industrial Estates Company (JIEC) and the Tunisian Industrial Real Estate Agency concluded the fifth meeting of their Joint Technical Committee on the Development of industrial cities, with Tunisian Ambassador Mufida Al-Zribi in attendance.
According to Jordan News Agency, the two parties have agreed to engage in strategic cooperation focusing on industrial integration and the development of smart and sustainable industrial estates. The collaboration aims to jointly promote and attract investments, develop human capacity, and strengthen the legal and institutional frameworks for cooperation and governance, all according to a specific timetable.
JIEC Director General Omar Juwaid highlighted that a series of meetings were conducted, including organized visits for the Tunisian delegation to observe industrial investment opportunities in Jordan. These efforts are geared towards improving the investment climate and developing industrial estates under a shared strategic vision, facilitating the exchange of expertise between the two nations.
Director General of the Tunisian Industrial Real Estate Agency, Kais Mejri, described the meeting as a significant step forward in bilateral cooperation, showcasing a mutual commitment to forming a sustainable strategic partnership. He noted that the Tunisian delegation gained insights into best practices in industrial cities and management of the industrial sector during their field visits.
It has been agreed that Tunisia will host the sixth meeting of the Joint Technical Committee next year. The Tunisian team also visited key industrial locations in Jordan, including the Jordanian Businessmen Association, the Chambers of Industry in Amman, Irbid, and Zarqa, as well as Al-Hassan Industrial Estate, Salt Industrial City, and the soon-to-be-opened Zarqa Industrial Estate.
