Amman: The Jordan Standards and Metrology Organization (JSMO) has issued a warning to the public and business owners regarding the purchase of diesel through fraudulent websites and offers promoted by pages impersonating legitimate fuel companies. The organization urged consumers to avoid buying fuel from unknown or unlicensed online sources and emphasized the importance of verifying the tanker's JSMO-issued permit to confirm its authenticity.
According to Jordan News Agency, the JSMO highlighted the necessity of checking the seals on tanker meters, ensuring the meter is zeroed before use, and confirming the hose is full of diesel prior to filling. Consumers are also advised to obtain a printed invoice that accurately reflects the meter reading of the fuel dispensed.
Furthermore, the organization encouraged consumers to note the tanker's registration number and the name of the filling station or company it represents. This information is crucial for follow-up or legal action if any discrepancies or violations occur.
