Minister and JBA Discuss Future Public Transport Initiatives

Amman: Minister of Transport, Dr. Nidal Qatamin, recently held a meeting with the head and members of the Jordanian Businessmen Association (JBA) to explore strategies for advancing Jordan's transport sector and enhancing its contribution to the national economy.

According to Jordan News Agency, Dr. Qatamin emphasized the significant role of the private sector as an essential partner in both implementing and advancing transport projects. He expressed a strong willingness to expand collaboration with private enterprises, highlighting the Ministry's readiness to utilize its expertise and resources to execute priority projects. These initiatives are expected to contribute value to Jordan's economy and improve the transport system's efficiency.

Dr. Qatamin provided an overview of the key projects and programs currently undertaken by the Ministry of Transport across various sectors. He outlined plans focused on infrastructure development, public transport services, and logistics improvements. Future projects were highlighted, aiming to boost the sector's efficiency and capacity to accommodate economic development, trade, and investment needs.

Ayman Alawneh, chairman of the JBA, along with its members, stressed the vital role of the transport sector in facilitating economic activities and enhancing trade and investment. They advocated for sustained partnership and collaboration with the Ministry of Transport to support projects enhancing infrastructure and transportation and logistics services efficiency.

The meeting included discussions on multiple issues and investment opportunities within the transport sector. Both parties explored ways to increase private sector involvement in future projects, which are intended to support Jordan's economic development.

At the conclusion of the meeting, Dr. Qatamin and the JBA representatives exchanged commemorative plaques, symbolizing their mutual partnership and commitment to ongoing cooperation and collaborative efforts.
