Amman: The National Cyber Security Center (NCSCJO) on Wednesday concluded its National Cyber Exercise 2026. The three-day event saw the participation of around 40 national entities from critical infrastructure sectors, government agencies, universities, and regulatory and oversight bodies.
According to Jordan News Agency, a total of 165 specialists took part in the technical track, while 75 others engaged in the administrative path. NCSCJO Director, Mohammad Smadi, highlighted the exercise as a milestone in building national cyber readiness. He emphasized the importance of moving from theoretical discussions to practical testing of institutional capabilities to assess preparedness against cyber incidents and attacks in realistic scenarios.
Smadi pointed out that the exercise provided participating institutions with an opportunity to test their technical and administrative capabilities, identify strengths and areas for improvement, and enhance coordination among technical teams and senior management. The center aims to use the outcomes and lessons learned from the exercise to improve national response levels and enhance the efficiency of institutions and personnel in the cybersecurity field.
The final day featured a joint exercise covering both technical and administrative tracks, a review session to assess performance, and the recognition of participants and entities that contributed to the exercise's success. The technical track simulated advanced cyberattacks, while the administrative path tested leadership's decision-making abilities and crisis management skills in cybersecurity.
This national exercise is part of the NCSCJO's efforts to strengthen the national protection and response system, improve preparedness among vital institutions, and promote a culture of proactive preparedness and effective response to escalating cybersecurity risks and threats.
