Amman: Any former official who fails to defend his country is not a statesman, says Minister of Government Communication Mohammad Momani, highlighting the government's commitment to fostering a collaborative relationship with national media. This partnership is crucial in conveying Jordan's political stances globally under King Abdullah's leadership. According to Jordan News Agency, Momani addressed the importance of supporting media and youth leaders during a meeting with the Sanad Association for Youth Thought and Action and the Jordanian Youth Movement. He emphasized the need for a robust cadre of young leaders dedicated to defending the nation's security and stability. Jordan, he noted, has a wealth of impactful media professionals and opinion leaders. Momani stressed the importance of engaging with youth and listening to their perspectives on public issues. He highlighted the government's commitment to empowering young people through dialogue and collaboration, which benefits the nation. With 67% of Jo rdanians under 35, their significant digital presence necessitates greater engagement in promoting positive societal influences. The Cybercrime Law, Momani explained, aims to protect citizens from digital fraud and offenses that threaten values and national unity, while allowing constructive criticism free from slander. He urged citizens to seek information from official sources to ensure accurate dissemination. Momani called for supporting the Jordanian narrative with objectivity, enhancing digital trust, and promoting media literacy to combat misinformation. He emphasized the role of digital awareness in maintaining national unity and strengthening national security. Sultan Khalaileh, President of the Sanad association, stated that the meeting aimed to understand the government's media narrative and youth discourse on social media, focusing on combating misinformation that threatens security. Momani engaged with association members on unifying efforts to elevate youth media, develop young talents, and i nvolve them in initiatives serving Jordan's interests.
