Minister Qudah Announces Over 38 Agreements to Boost Economic Performance and Food Security in 2025

Amman: Over 38 agreements and memoranda of understanding have been signed to enhance economic performance and food security in 2025, announced Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply, Ya'rub Qudah. The minister detailed the ministry's achievements from the previous year, aligning with the Economic Modernization Vision's goals.

According to Jordan News Agency, the ministry's efforts contributed to growth and job creation while expediting and automating procedures. These initiatives resulted in increased registrations of sole proprietorships, trademarks, and patents, as well as measures to protect national production, industrial property, and enhance competition.

Qudah emphasized the implementation of strategies to bolster food security, stabilize supply chains, regulate markets and prices, and boost the Kingdom's strategic reserves of wheat and barley. He also highlighted policies supporting industrial and commercial sectors and identifying new export markets.

In terms of global economic partnerships, numerous joint committee meetings and bilateral talks were held with various countries to enhance economic cooperation. In 2025, over 38 agreements were signed, including the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement between Jordan and the UAE.

Furthermore, Qudah noted Jordan's achievement in securing the lowest reduction in US tariffs on Jordanian exports and efforts to sign preferential trade agreements with Rwanda and Uzbekistan. He also mentioned measures to strengthen economic ties with Syria and increase Jordanian exports to the country.

Qudah highlighted the ministry's milestone of winning the Arab Government Excellence Award as the best Arab ministry last year. Additionally, he mentioned steps taken to regulate and promote e-commerce, protect consumers, and empower women to increase their economic participation.
