The Ministry of Transport revealed the official numbers of Arab and foreign visitors who flocked on board the Iraqi Airways fleet from various regional and international destinations to Baghdad and Najaf International Airports during the period from the first to the twentieth of Safar to participate in the commemoration of the million-person visit to the Arbaeen of Imam Hussein, peace be upon him, as the total number of visitors reached 35,663 distributed over 219 flights. The statement explained, quoting the Director General of Iraqi Airways, Eng. Manaf Abdul-Moneim: "This year's visit season witnessed great success through the service plan supervised by the Minister of Transport, Razzaq Muhaibis Al-Saadawi, which contributed to increasing the number of flights and preventing obstacles in work, in addition to the company's active participation in transporting visitors via buses of various sizes and providing logistical support within the service effort of the Ministry of Transport in the axis between Baghda d and Karbala." The statement continued: "The work of Iraqi Airways is continuing, especially with the start of implementing the reverse transporting plan for visitors to return them to their countries, as the plan will also include mobilizing all human and material capabilities to provide the best services to visitors after they perform the rites of visiting the shrines of the pure Imams, peace be upon them."
