JERASH: The Ministry of Labor has signed an agreement to provide operational support to a new production branch of Nab al-Feel Garment Manufacturing Company in Jerash. This initiative aims to create 270 new jobs and boost economic development in the region, aligning with royal directives. According to Jordan News Agency, the agreement was signed under the patronage of Minister of Labor Khaled Bakkar and involves collaboration between the Ministry of Labor, the Technical and Vocational Skills Development Commission, and Nab Al-Feel Garment Manufacturing Co. Bakkar noted that this decision follows his recent visit to Jerash, where he emphasized increasing the factory's capacity to address local employment needs. The operational support provided amounts to JD514,000, enabling the factory to expand its workforce to 670 employees. This initiative is part of a broader governmental strategy to tackle poverty and unemployment, stimulate local development, and enhance the national economy. Since 2008, as part of ro yal initiatives, the Ministry of Labor has established 31 production units across various sectors, including textiles, petrochemicals, and food industries, currently employing approximately 9,700 Jordanians. Additional production units are under development in Karak, Ma'an, Balqa, and Madaba, contributing further to job creation and economic growth. To attract investors, the ministry offers significant capital and operational support, including infrastructure cost assistance, free use of buildings for three years, salary subsidies covering 50% of minimum wages for 12 months, and allowances for transportation and social security contributions. Bakkar encouraged investors to explore these opportunities, highlighting the government's commitment to expanding production branches and fostering economic growth nationwide.
