AMMAN: A 3.3-magnitude earthquake was detected on the Richter scale in the al-Karamah area, located northwest of the Dead Sea, on Monday. The Jordanian Seismological Observatory reported the tremor, which occurred at about 1:30 p.m. and was registered at a depth of 6 kilometers.
According to Jordan News Agency, the observatory confirmed that the local residents in the vicinity of the al-Karamah area did not feel the earthquake. The lack of noticeable impact on the population suggests that the seismic activity was minimal and did not result in any reported damage or injuries. The incident adds to the region's geological activity, which is monitored closely due to its location near tectonic plate boundaries.
