Amman: Minister of Government Communication and government spokesperson Mohammad Al-Momani praised the strategic efforts led by His Majesty King Abdullah II and His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, emphasizing how their leadership has showcased the wisdom and balance of Jordan’s foreign policy, earning global respect and appreciation.
According to Jordan News Agency, Momani, in an interview on “Sixty Minutes” aired Friday evening, highlighted the global respect for Jordan’s international stances. He also discussed the Prime Minister’s field visits, which are institutionally planned, implemented, and reviewed, with details released in quarterly public reports.
Momani noted the positive economic indicators pointing towards continued optimism despite global challenges. He cited increased growth, exports, foreign reserves, and investment, alongside the Amman Financial Market’s strongest performance in over fifteen years, as signs of progress.
The government remains determined to advance its Economic Modernization Vision, focusing on growth and job creation through investment attraction. Momani underscored the private sector’s role as a vital partner in economic and development efforts, highlighting the issuance of over 200 economic decisions in the government’s first year to support businesses and ease burdens on citizens and investors.
He detailed ongoing major national projects in water, energy, and transport, including the National Water Carrier Project slated to launch early next year. Significant progress in public transport has been made, with regular inter-governorate routes established and plans for expanding the Bus Rapid Transit system following the successful Amman-Madaba line.
Momani emphasized that improving health and education services is a priority, with numerous hospital, clinic, and school projects underway nationwide, supported by private-sector CSR initiatives.
On the legislative side, Momani discussed the Prime Minister’s directive for closer cooperation with Parliament to advance legislation and strengthen constitutional oversight as part of political modernization. The upcoming parliamentary session is set to debate key draft laws, including budget, social security, and local administration legislation.
The Draft Military Service Law and the Local Administration Law will also be referred to Parliament, enhancing municipal governance and financial discipline as part of political and administrative reforms.
Addressing the Palestinian issue, Momani affirmed Jordan’s ongoing humanitarian role toward Gaza, emphasizing the Kingdom’s commitment to supporting the people of Gaza and its efforts to help Palestinians remain on their land and achieve statehood. He noted that Jordan’s firm positions and the King’s diplomatic efforts have encouraged more nations to recognize the State of Palestine.
Momani condemned Israeli annexation policies in the West Bank as aggressive and illegal, appreciating U.S. and international rejection of these actions. He reiterated Jordan’s support for efforts to ease Palestinian suffering and establish an independent state, with no military role in the West Bank or Gaza.
Regarding Jordan-Syria relations, Momani stated that ties are steadily improving, with continued dialogue benefiting both countries. Jordan supports Syria’s unity, security, and stability.
On government communication, efforts are underway to enhance institutional communication, with spokespersons under the direct oversight of the Prime Minister. Upcoming assessments will address training needs, introducing a dedicated administrative framework as an unprecedented step.
Momani concluded by noting that Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan regularly meets with media and press leaders to update them on government achievements, plans, and projects across all sectors.
