Amman: Ministries of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship and Youth have taken a significant step towards bolstering the digital empowerment of Jordanian youth with the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to develop and integrate Future Stations under youth centers nationwide. The initiative aims to provide young people with enhanced opportunities in innovation, entrepreneurship, and the digital economy.
According to Jordan News Agency, the MoU is a direct implementation of the Cabinet's decision concerning the plan to integrate and develop Future Stations and youth centers. This move aligns with national directives to advance government services, empower the youth, and expand opportunities for quality learning and training in various governorates.
The signing ceremony witnessed the participation of the Minister of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship, Sami Smirat, and the Minister of Youth, Dr. Raed Adwan, alongside several officials from both ministries. Smirat emphasized the importance of the MoU in broadening the impact of Future Stations and reinforcing their role in enhancing the digital skills of the youth.
Smirat further explained that the ministry is committed to developing training and technological environments that equip youth with the necessary skills for the labor market. This MoU will facilitate greater access to digital training and development programs in the governorates, boosting youth readiness in digital skills, artificial intelligence, programming, cybersecurity, and entrepreneurship, in line with the Economic Modernization Vision and digital transformation plans.
Dr. Raed Adwan highlighted that the MoU marks a pivotal step in advancing the services and programs offered to youth at centers, which will be transformed into spaces that nurture young potential. He underscored the Ministry of Youth's commitment to strengthening the role of youth centers as incubators for talent across the nation.
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Entrepreneurship will oversee the development, equipping, and operation of the Future Stations, providing technical and technological support and specialized training programs. Simultaneously, the Ministry of Youth will ensure suitable facilities and spaces are available within its centers, supporting youth access to the programs and activities implemented under the MoU.
