Baghdad: Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Qudah and Iraqi Minister of Industry and Minerals Mohammad Nouri met in Baghdad on Thursday to discuss ways to enhance industrial and commercial cooperation and expand joint coordination to serve mutual interests.
According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting focused on the joint Jordanian-Iraqi Economic City project, emphasizing the importance of removing obstacles and providing the necessary facilities to proceed with this strategically significant initiative. The project aims to support the industrial sector and create promising investment opportunities.
The ministers also explored mechanisms to increase the volume of bilateral trade and open new channels for economic cooperation. Their discussions aimed to stimulate trade, support the private sector, and achieve economic integration between Amman and Baghdad.
Qudah highlighted the depth of the historic relations between the two countries, stressing Jordan's commitment to developing economic and investment cooperation for shared benefits and enhanced economic integration across various fields. He emphasized Iraq's role as a major economic partner and the importance of strengthening cooperation between public and private sectors.
The Iraqi minister reiterated his country's commitment to deepening the partnership with Jordan in various economic and industrial fields. He noted the Iraqi government's focus on establishing the joint economic city, advancing vital projects, and resolving any obstacles faced by both sides.
