Amman: Head of the Lower House Palestine Committee, MP Suleiman Al-Saud, emphasized Jordan's "historic, unwavering and solid" stance regarding the Palestinian cause and broader Arab issues during a committee meeting on Sunday. The meeting was attended by Rafiq Khirfan, the Director General of the Department of Palestinian Affairs (DPA).
According to Jordan News Agency, Al-Saud reaffirmed that since the onset of aggression in the Gaza Strip, Jordan has maintained a "clear" position both officially and popularly, focused on ending Israeli hostilities, establishing a permanent truce, and restoring peace in the Middle East. He highlighted Jordan's stability and unity under Hashemite leadership as central to its role in the region.
Al-Saud also underscored the importance of the Hashemite guardianship of Jerusalem's holy sites and advocated for continued support for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) to assist refugees.
Meanwhile, Khirfan and leaders of the Kingdom's camp services committees praised the "remarkable" efforts of His Majesty and Jordanian diplomacy in response to the Gaza aggression. They cited the King's steadfast positions and ongoing support for the Palestinian people as a testament to Jordan's commitment.
Khirfan further remarked that His Majesty persistently champions the Palestinians' right to establish a legitimate state in international forums and dialogues with global leaders. He asserted that regional stability and security hinge on resolving the Palestinian issue with the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on pre-1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
Khirfan also commended the Royal initiatives aimed at improving living conditions within the camps, benefiting various sectors and enhancing the quality of life for residents.
