Al Wasatyeh: Minister of Labor Khaled Bakkar emphasized the significant role municipalities play in enhancing services for citizens and creating job opportunities through developmental projects. During his visit to the Al Wasatyeh Municipality's garment factory, Bakkar highlighted the importance of forming genuine partnerships with the private sector to initiate local development projects. These ventures contribute to job creation for both genders and promote economic empowerment.
According to Jordan News Agency, such partnerships facilitate the establishment of comfortable and safe local work environments across municipal areas while generating sustainable financial revenues for municipalities. Bakkar praised Al Wasatyeh Municipality's achievements in improving services for citizens through self-resourced efforts. This success has bolstered the municipality's budget, allowing it to implement various service and development projects that boost the local economy and enhance municipal services, thereby positively impacting the area's economic and social aspects.
Mayor Emad Azzam noted the government's and Ministry of Labor's support for investors in areas outside city centers, emphasizing its crucial role in setting up development projects that provide job opportunities for local residents. He added that the municipality, located in west Irbid (northern Jordan), offers all necessary facilities to attract investors, whether through partnerships with the municipality or independent projects within its jurisdiction. These efforts align with His Majesty King Abdullah's vision of developmental work complementing municipal services to offer citizens the best possible services.
The Al Wasatyeh Municipality factory, established as a royal initiative, employs around 150 workers.
