Amman: National Center for Curriculum Development and Evaluation (NCCD) announced an update on the mechanism to display approved school textbooks on its official website. The new option will enable beneficiaries to directly browse materials without downloading.
According to Jordan News Agency, a NCCD statement issued on Tuesday revealed that this step is part of the center's commitment to streamlining access for students, teachers, and parents to browse approved educational content while protecting copyright. This move ensures the availability of books electronically from their official source and limits unauthorized copying, republication, distribution, or sale processes.
The center emphasized that this decision does not constitute a license to download, copy, photocopy, reproduce, print, publish, distribute, circulate, sell, or exploit books for commercial purposes, in whole or in part, by any means. The educational content is subject to the provisions of the Copyright and Neighboring Rights Protection Law No. (22) of 1992 and its amendments, which regulate rights of reproduction, publication, distribution, and public access, and protect works from unauthorized use.
To prevent any violations, the center urged online libraries, platforms, and various entities to adhere to copyright and publishing rights and refrain from extracting copies of the available books on the website. The center stated that obtaining necessary legal approvals to republish, print, or offer books for sale secures the protection of the copyright holders' rights and the circulation of officially approved copies.
