Amman: His Majesty King Abdullah II on Tuesday received a delegation of United States Congress staff at Al Husseiniya Palace. The meeting, attended by His Royal Highness Crown Prince Al Hussein bin Abdullah II, focused on the strategic partnership between Jordan and the US, exploring ways to strengthen it across a variety of fields, and discussing regional developments.
According to Jordan News Agency, His Majesty highlighted the importance of achieving comprehensive de-escalation in the region and ensuring the security of Arab states. The King expressed concerns about Israel's unilateral actions against Palestinians in the West Bank, including land annexation and settlement expansion. He emphasized the need to halt Israeli violations of Muslim and Christian holy sites in Jerusalem.
The meeting was also attended by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi, Director of the Office of His Majesty Alaa Batayneh, Jordan's Ambassador to the United States Dina Kawar, and the United States' Ambassador to Jordan James Holtsnider.
