Amman: The Agricultural Credit Corporation (ACC) and the World Food Programme (WFP) on Tuesday launched a credit and loan initiative to support Jordan's sustainable agriculture and empower farmers.
According to Jordan News Agency, the event was held under the patronage of ACC Director General Muhammad Dojan and WFP Programs Director Nona Wrang. The initiative aims to expand farmers' access to Islamic-compliant finance products, enhancing the resilience of agricultural projects to address effects of climate change and supporting the transition to modern and sustainable farming practices.
During the launching ceremony, both officials stated that the initiative represents a strategic step toward empowering agricultural communities and strengthening their capacity to adapt to environmental challenges by providing innovative financial tools that optimize resource use and boost productivity.
The ACC and WFP emphasized that the initiative serves as a comprehensive platform to empower women and youth in the Kingdom's agricultural sector. By offering financing and training opportunities, it enables them to launch entrepreneurial projects and adopt modern technologies, ensuring their active participation in Jordan's rural development and food security.
