Nine Palestinians Injured in Attacks During Olive Harvest in West Bank

Ramallah:Nine Palestinians sustained injuries during attacks by Israeli soldiers and occupiers while attempting to harvest olives in the occupied West Bank.

According to Anadolu Agency, the Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that its teams treated nine individuals for injuries in the village of Deir Abu Mashal, northwest of Ramallah. The injuries included one person with a live-fire wound, two hit by rubber bullets, and six who were beaten.

Local sources informed Anadolu that Israeli soldiers and occupiers confronted farmers from the village as they went to harvest olives, forcing them to retreat. Anadolu's Palestinian photojournalist, Issam Rimawi, covering the event, was also injured by a rubber bullet.

In a related incident, several Palestinians in the village of al-Mughayyir, east of Ramallah, suffered tear gas exposure during an attack on a home by Israeli forces and occupiers. The official Palestinian news agency Wafa noted that tear gas canisters were fired at the home of Mohammad Hamed Abu Aliya, causing suffocation among family members. The agency also reported that an ambulance was prevented from approaching the site and was targeted with tear gas.

The Palestinian government's Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission documented at least 12 attacks by occupiers since Saturday morning across several governorates, including Ramallah and al-Bireh, Nablus, Qalqilya, Hebron, and Jericho. These attacks involved assaults on olive harvesters, detainment of Palestinians, physical violence, property theft, home invasions, wall demolitions, and road blockades.

Since the olive harvest season began in early October, there has been an increase in attacks by Israeli soldiers and occupiers on Palestinian farmers, along with restrictions on their access to farmland. The Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission has reported over 45,000 trees, including more than 26,000 olive trees, were damaged or destroyed across the West Bank in the first half of 2026.

Official Palestinian figures estimate that around 750,000 Israeli occupiers reside in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, across 194 settlements and 400 outposts.
