No rise in bread prices – says minister

Minister of Industry, Trade and Supply Yousef Shamali confirmed that bread prices will not be raised, even if a ton of wheat price reached a thousand U.S. dollars.

During an interview with Jordan TV’s “60 Minutes” program, Shamali said that said that Jordan bought wheat last week at a price of nearly $500 per ton, despite the estimates included in the current year’s budget, for wheat prices ranging between $230 and $260 per ton.

On poultry prices, Shamali said that the price of one kilogram during the holy month of Ramadan was set at JD2, but after the end of the end of Ramadan, prices returned to its normal average, the lowest compared to the neighboring countries.
