A slight rise in temperatures is forecast on Tuesday, with normal summer weather conditions prevailing in the highlands while it will remain hot in the plains and other areas, the Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) said in its daily update.

In its report, the JMD warned of the danger of direct exposure to the sun at noon in the Badia regions, the Jordan Valley and Aqaba.

Wednesday will bring in a further increase in temperature, becoming 5-6 degrees above annual average and bringing relatively hot weather to the highlands and the plains, while it will be scorching in other parts of the Kingdom, with high-altitude clouds and northwesterly moderate to brisk winds.

Maximum temperatures today are expected to hover between 34 and 31 degrees Celsius in Amman and the northern region, while minimum temperatures will range between 22 and 17 degrees. In the southern highlands, the highs will remain in the 30-degree range, while the lows will be slightly cooler, dropping to 19 degrees at night. Highs in Aqaba are predicted to hit 41 degrees, while the lows will reach 29 degrees Celsius, the JMD added.
