The Hague: The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) has submitted written statements to the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the advisory opinion on Israel's obligations concerning the presence and operations of the United Nations, international organizations, and third-party states in the occupied Palestinian territories.
According to Jordan News Agency, the OIC emphasized the legal significance of these proceedings in challenging Israel's actions as an occupying power, particularly its recent measures that would bar the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) from operating in the occupied territories as of January 30, 2025.
The OIC reaffirmed its unwavering support for UNRWA, which was established by a UN General Assembly resolution to serve Palestinian refugees until a just and lasting solution to their plight is reached.
