Vatican Diplomat Reaffirms Support for Two-State Solution, Asserts Gaza as Palestinian Home

Vatican City: Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, the Vatican's Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations, reaffirmed the Holy See's commitment to a two-state solution, stressing that Gaza is the rightful home of Palestinians who wish to remain on their land.

According to Jordan News Agency, Archbishop Gallagher emphasized in an interview with America magazine that despite the devastation, "Gaza remains the home of Palestinians who were born and have lived there for generations and who want to stay and rebuild their lives. We cannot go against that."

He further noted that many Palestinians and their ancestors had previously been forced to leave their homes in other parts of the Holy Land and warned against viewing Gaza's Palestinian population as a problem.
