Pan-Arab Bloc Condemns Israeli Knesset’s Decision Against UNRWA in Extraordinary Session.

Cairo: In an extraordinary session convened at Jordan's request, a decision was made by the Pan-Arab bloc condemning the Israeli Knesset's recent actions against the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA). Amjad Adaileh, Jordan's permanent representative to the Arab League, announced the decision, emphasizing its significance for millions of Palestinian refugees across the region. According to Jordan News Agency, Adaileh stated that the Arab delegates collectively declared the Knesset's actions as "invalid," underscoring the potential threat these decisions pose to Palestinian refugees in areas including the West Bank, East Jerusalem, the Gaza Strip, Jordan, and Syria. The Arab League decision reaffirms the centrality of the Palestinian cause and denounces the Israeli Knesset's illegitimate laws. Adaileh highlighted the pivotal role of UNRWA, which was established by a UN resolution, and asserted that the Israeli Knesset lacks the authority to nullify its mand ate through legislative actions. He also noted that the Arab decision features a clause advocating for the suspension of Israel's membership in the United Nations, a measure that the Arab League's General Secretariat and other related bodies plan to pursue. The decision further calls on countries that are allies of the Palestinian cause to actively oppose the Israeli actions. Adaileh reiterated the commitment of Arab nations to continue their efforts to resist and denounce these Israeli laws, urging the international community to bolster support for the Palestinian cause.
