Paralympic Committee Launches Specialized Nutrition Platform for Athletes with Disabilities

Amman: The Jordan Paralympic Committee has introduced the world's first digital platform focused on nutrition specifically for athletes with disabilities, marking a significant advancement in support for Paralympic athletes. The "Adapted Sports Nutrition" platform aims to enhance athletes' performance, competitiveness, and health through personalized nutrition programs.

According to Jordan News Agency, the committee's chairperson, Omar Hindawi, emphasized the importance of nutrition in optimizing athletic performance and reducing injury risks. The platform offers evidence-based nutrition plans tailored to the unique physiological needs of Paralympic athletes. It forms part of a broader strategy to create a comprehensive sports ecosystem that includes training, rehabilitation, medical care, and psychological support.

The platform, managed by committee nutritionist Tamara Halayqa, provides access to peer-reviewed scientific content and specialized research. It considers various factors such as disability type, sport discipline, and performance objectives. The committee has made the platform accessible through multiple social media channels to reach athletes, coaches, and families, facilitating broader engagement and support.
