Geneva: UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Volker Trk expressed his alarm over the use of "genocidal rhetoric" by senior Israeli officials and described the situation in Gaza as that of a "cemetery." Addressing the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council, Trk emphasized the urgent need for international intervention to halt the ongoing violence.

According to Jordan News Agency, Trk condemned the public discourse promoting genocide and the dehumanization of Palestinians, which he attributed to prominent Israeli leaders. He highlighted that Israel is already under scrutiny at the International Court of Justice, where evidence against its actions is growing.

Trk called for a cessation of arms supplies to Israel, urging countries to exert maximum pressure for a ceasefire and to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian aid to Gaza. He also advocated for decisive measures against Israel's military strategies concerning Gaza and the West Bank, which he characterized as accelerating annexation efforts.
