Amman: Members of Parliament Wednesday underlined that Jordan, under its Hashemite leadership, has consistently stood on the right side of history on Arab and Islamic issues, especially the Palestinian cause and the brutal aggression against Gaza.
According to Jordan News Agency, the parliament emphasized Jordan's steadfastness against conspiracies and its role as a beacon of security and stability. They highlighted that national unity surpasses partisan interests, and national principles are sacred. The sacrifices of martyrs, particularly in the history of Jerusalem, underscore Jordan's unwavering commitment.
The remarks were made in a session of the Lower House of Parliament, chaired by Speaker Ahmed Safadi, with Prime Minister Jafar Hassan and government members in attendance. The parliamentarians issued a strong warning against any threats to national security, emphasizing that any actions against the Arab Army will be met with the full force of the law.
They condemned efforts to undermine the rule of law and deviate from the national and ethical values defining Jordan as a state of institutions and principles. Parliament also denounced actions aimed at diminishing state authority or targeting national institutions and personnel dedicated to defending the homeland and the Palestinian cause, central to Jordan's identity.
The parliamentarians pointed out unacceptable attempts to challenge the state's prestige and national symbols, exploiting the Gaza crisis to incite unrest and question Jordan's consistent support for Palestine. They stated that such actions only serve agendas seeking to destabilize the nation.
They reiterated their commitment to Jordan's core principles, rejecting any attack on national institutions, particularly the Armed Forces and security services, crucial to national security. They opposed any attempt to politicize these institutions or question their historic role in supporting the Palestinian people.
The need to preserve national cohesion and safeguard the nation from those attempting to spread chaos under false pretenses was emphasized. They affirmed that all regions of Jordan stand united behind His Majesty the King, the Arab Army, and the security services, declaring themselves loyal defenders of Jordan and its Hashemite leadership, which has consistently championed Arab and Islamic causes.
Recent lawlessness during protests was regretted, as such actions undermine both the Palestinian cause and national unity. The Arab Army remains a symbol of national pride, and defending Palestinian rights is not achieved by weakening Jordan's internal stability.
Speaker Safadi, at the session's outset, stated that there is no neutrality regarding the army and no compromise on Jordan. He emphasized that those misinterpreting the state's resolve are mistaken and affirmed the House's support for the King's efforts and regional cooperation.
